Samsung Galaxy Note 8 might be revealed in late August

Reportedly, an unnamed Samsung executive confirmed that Galaxy Note 8, Samsung’s upcoming flagship, will be revealed by the end of August. Some papers, like The Bell, believe that Note 8 will be revealed on August 23rd; others, like The Investor, think the device will be shown to public on August 26th. Note 8’s reveal will come earlier than expected (September was the first supposed date) mostly because Samsung wants to beat Apple to the punch by releasing their flagship before iPhone 8 comes out.Lets hope that Samsung’s rush will not do what it may have done to Galaxy ...

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) just received an update in Europe

Update carries number A520FXXU2AQF5. It weights tad over 30 megabytes. It brings a number of important bug fixes, full list of which will be available to everyone who downloads it as patch notes. Unfortunately, the update is not based in this month’s security release, meaning its software defenses are slightly out of date. Hopefully this means that another update will come out soon, this time with the newest security fixes as well.Galaxy A5 (2017) is set to receive an OS update to Android 7.0 Nougat, but there is still no official word on when exacly will this happen. ...

Samsung is hiring! LF battery experts in Europe and the United States

You remember the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, right? Sure you do. According to The Investor, increased security steps that Samsung now takes in its production and implementation of smartphone batteries is the main reason why the company is looking to hire new battery experts. Why are they looking in the West and not South Korea is anyone’s guess – perhaps the demand is so high, they have to fish abroad? Another reason is, allegedly, Samsung working hard on a next-gen, solid-state battery technology. If you are interested in working for the mobile giant, you have some learnin’ to ...

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition is out in South Korea, worldwide release unknown

Samsung promised release on July 7th and the company came through; as of now, South Koreans can enjoy their new and shiny – only slightly refurbished – Note 7’s, now called Fan Edition. Device costs KRW699,600, which roughly equals $611 – a 30% decrease in price from the original. Four hundred thousand units have been prepared for the initial batch. There is still no word on the global release. Could it be that Fan Edition will in fact be a South Korea exclusive?Three versions of the device are available, one from each of the three carriers that sell it in SK – ...

Samsung is the most trusted brand in Asia – sixth year in a row

Market research company Nielsen has conducted a survey under the title of ”Asia’s top 1,000 brands 2017”. Its conclusion is somewhat surprising – despite all the exploding batteries and factories catching fire (okay, it was just one factory), Asians seem to still put more trust in Samsung than into any other company. It is especially surprising when one considers that the survey was not limited to Asian companies and firms such as Nokia or Apple were also included – competition was large and strong.Survey was conducted online and included over six thousand ...

Galaxy J5 Pro, a new mid-ranger by Samsung, officially announced

Announced in Thailand earlier today (global release is most probable), Galaxy J5 Pro is basically a slightly updated version of Galaxy J5 (2017). So, it is an update of an update. Hm. Anyway, the only difference between the two is their memory capacity; J5 (2017) had 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, while J5 Pro has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Is more memory worth the phone’s price, which is roughly 294 American dollars? You be the judge.Specification:– 5.2′, 720p Super AMOLED display,– 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage,– Exynos 7870 CPU, 8-core, 64 bit,– 13mpx front ...

Samsung Galaxy C7 (2017) has just received its WiFi certificate

And, as is always the case with WiFi alliance, we know nothing about the phone itself other than it will run Android 7.1 OS. At least receiving WiFi certification is a solid indication that the phone will be available in the United States. Still, that is an awful little info for a news, so here you have last year’s Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro specification, so that you will may start guessing on 2017’s version improvements:– 5.7′ screen, 1080 x 1920p,– Snapdragon 625 CPU, 8-core,– Adreno 506 GPU,– 4GB RAM, 32/64GB internal storage,– 16mpx main ...

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition available in South Korea on July 7th

I will not be repeating the whole story of Galaxy Note 7, because anyone who cares already knows it by heart – a great phone has been released, then turned out to have a major issue, Samsung recalled it twice, somehow did not lost all credibility and now will be selling the refurbished copies once more. Last week I told you, dear readers, that the refurbished Note 7 will be called R, standing for, well, Refurbished. I am sorry for misleading you – it turns out that the device’s name will be FE, standing for Fan Edition (kinda stupid name if you ask me, but maybe I’m ...

Samsung’s Walk Mode app is a pointless, annoying and overall ridiculous battery drainer

Long story short; Walk Mode is horrible, don’t download it, kk bye.Sigh… okay, I guess I have to tell you a bit more. Walk Mode is a smartphone application released by Samsung. The app is only available in India as of now and pray to god it will stay there, I mean, there is no info on its global release date. Walk Mode is advertised as a notification app, warning the user of any danger that presents before he/she as he/she walks while using phone. Sounds pretty neat, no? What could it be? Some sort of augmented reality tech, an object detector that will alert us of cars, ...
