Samsung is the most trusted brand in Asia - sixth year in a row

Market research company Nielsen has conducted a survey under the title of ”Asia’s top 1,000 brands 2017”. Its conclusion is somewhat surprising – despite all the exploding batteries and factories catching fire (okay, it was just one factory), Asians seem to still put more trust in Samsung than into any other company. It is especially surprising when one considers that the survey was not limited to Asian companies and firms such as Nokia or Apple were also included – competition was large and strong.

Survey was conducted online and included over six thousand participants from thirteen Asian countries. Surveyed people were asked to choose one brand for each of the seventeen product categories, which ranged from food to electronics.

Well, the people have spoken, I guess, though I do not really understand their decision. Due to the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco and Samsung’s less than stellar handling of the situation (second recall was a well-planned and executed operation, but first one was a mess – not to forget, damn, people’s phones explodeD), Samsung should be looked at with more distrust than ever. Maybe it has something to do with cultural differences? I do not know. Let me know what you think.
