Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition is out in South Korea, worldwide release unknown

Samsung promised release on July 7th and the company came through; as of now, South Koreans can enjoy their new and shiny – only slightly refurbished – Note 7’s, now called Fan Edition. Device costs KRW699,600, which roughly equals $611 – a 30% decrease in price from the original. Four hundred thousand units have been prepared for the initial batch. There is still no word on the global release. Could it be that Fan Edition will in fact be a South Korea exclusive?

Three versions of the device are available, one from each of the three carriers that sell it in SK – Korea Telekom, SK Telekom and LG Uplus. Fan Edition is almost exacly the same as last year’s Galaxy Note 7, the only (major) differences being Android 7.0 OS instead of 6.0 and an overhauled 3200mAh battery instead of the larger 3500mAh one.
