Just in case you were still wondering; refurbished Galaxy Note 7 has just received its FCC certification. Three varians of the phone have been certified; SM-N935S, SM-N935L and SM-N935K, which probably means that three South Korean carriers, SK Telecom, LG U+ and KT Corporation will be selling it. While Samsung revealed that the device will eventually be available in other countries as well, United States will not be one of them – perhaps they’re tired of all the lawsuits, eh? Nudge, nudge. The only difference between the old and new Note 7 will be smaller and hopefully ...

ZTE Axon 8/7s, specification
*double phone’s name in the title is there, because it is unclear whether the rumours pertain to one or the other. More info points out towards the 7s*Judging by what information there is, ZTE is cooking up a solid mid-range phone. Personally, I do not really know why we need more of these, save perhaps for those of us who cannot stomach buying a Samsung. Most of Axon 8/7s looks quite nifty: 5.5′ OLED screen, Snapdragon 820/821 CPU, 4GB of RAM and from 64 to 256GB of storage, 3320mAh battery, 12mpx main and 8mpx secondary cameras. The only weird, in a bad sense of the word, ...
O tempora o mores!, or we might not see iPhone 8 this year
Hold on, don’t go jumping off the window. It is just a rumour, one that may or may not be true. Still… Deutsche Bank (what do they know about phones? Or am I missing something)’s analysts seem to think that iPhone 8 will not get released this year. The reason is that Apple lacks the neccessary amount of components to mass produce the device right now, plus it is said there are some technical difficulties with the device’s development. Foxconn seems to share that point of fiew. At the same time, though, TRENDFORCE believes that we will be seeing iPhone 8 getting ...
Autism and software, or a young hacker will spend two years in jail
Adam Mudd, 20, lived in Hertfordshire, small town in the United Kingdom. I say ”lived” because he will be spending next two years in a much less warm and comfortable environment of prison cell. Young man has been sentenced after proven guilty of numerous hacker attacks which netted him a considerable sum of five hundred thousand pounds. It all begun four years ago. Then sixteen years old, young Adam (who is also, by the way, autistic. As much as it saddens me to say that, this was probably the cause of the boy having too much spare time on his hands) wrote a virus that he dubbed ...
Samsung Pay will launch in France in September
According to a leak from an unknown source, payment service Samsung Pay is set to launch in the land of wine and baguettes in September 2017. Furthermore, it is said that Samsung wants to launch it along with its new smartphone, which may or may not be Galaxy Note 8. Samsung Pay is slowly gaining popularity in Sweden and UAE; Koreans are planning to launch it in Switzerland, United Kingdoms and Hong Kong as well. Tweet Vote on HN ...
Corners of Samsung Galaxy S8 are said to be quite fragile
As proven by German scientists, corners of the Samsung Galaxy S8 are too easy to break. Scientists from test.de have built a special drum, which motion allows it to test smartphones’ durability when falling. Most smartphones can take up to a hundred falls without taking more than superficial damage, but Galaxy S8’s Gorilla Glass 5 display has started to crumble after barely fifty. The weak link in the phone’s construction seems to be its corners.Test.de suggests that Samsung Galaxy S8 owners invest in a phone case. They probably have the right idea – 900 bucks does ...
Samsung Galaxy S8 screen burn-in and how to prevent and reverse it
I am getting fed up with Galaxy S8 news, so I will keep it brief. Burn-in is ANOTHER issue with the Galaxy S8 smartphone, being reported by a significant number of users. Whether you decide to blame Samsung, AMOLED screens or god is not my concern; I am writing this post to help Galaxy S8 ownersin either preventing their phones from getting the issue in the first place or revert it if needed. Some of these tips will probably work for other phones too, if you have that problem on your Xiaomi or iPhone or Lenovo or whatever. How to not get a burn-in:1. Avoid displaying static images if ...
Nokia 6 coming to the US, just received its FCC certification
Good news to the American fans of Nokia! Nokia 6, the upper-mid ranger, is getting one step closer towards its US release, as it has just received its Federal Communications Commission certification. We did not get any more info on either the phone’s price or date of release, but the latter will most probably be soon. If you’re interested in the phone, go ahead and take a look at its specification:– 16mpx rear camera, f/2.0 aperture, laser autofocus, PDAF; 8mpx selfie shooter,– 3000mAh battery,– Android 7.1 Nougat OS,– 5.5′ LCD screen, FHD ...
Jelly, or the smallest smartphone out there
Smartphones are made bigger and bigger, no way around it. Just a few years ago, a four inch phone would be considered big as heck; today, 5ive and a half inch is considered normal. Don’t like it? Tough luck, you don’t have a choice. Unless…Kickstarter, a popular crowdfunding platform, is home to a new smartphone project. Called Jelly, it is a two and a half inch small (!!) smartphone. Project’s funding is already over, with it collecting needed money in only an hour (!!!). Phone will be sold for 59 dollars, and should come out sometime in August, so get ready to grab ...
HTC U 11 said to come out with a USB Type C to 3.5mm adapter
Two days ago I informed you that HTC U 11 will probably not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. According to the latest leak by one LlabTooFeR, well, it will and it will not both at once. U 11 is said to come out with a USB Type C to 3.5mm adapter in the box. This would certainly be a step up from the HTC U which did not have neither the headphone jack nor the adapter.
