Samsung Galaxy S8 screen burn-in and how to prevent and reverse it

I am getting fed up with Galaxy S8 news, so I will keep it brief. Burn-in is ANOTHER issue with the Galaxy S8 smartphone, being reported by a significant number of users. Whether you decide to blame Samsung, AMOLED screens or god is not my concern; I am writing this post to help Galaxy S8 ownersin either preventing their phones from getting the issue in the first place or revert it if needed. Some of these tips will probably work for other phones too, if you have that problem on your Xiaomi or iPhone or Lenovo or whatever.

How to not get a burn-in:

1. Avoid displaying static images if possible. You cannot really do that with some images, like the navigation buttons and status icons, but others you can keep hidden or transparent.

2. When leaving the phone on at night, e.g. when charging it (though I suggest NOT leaving your phone to charge at night – see the Galaxy Note 7 and similiar stories), use a mobile screen saver.

3. Set the phone’s brightness to low levels, to 1/4 of the bar perhaps so that you can actually use the phone.

How to fix a burn-in that happened:

Downlaod an AMOLED Burn-in Fixer, free app from Google Play Store that reverses the effects of a burn-in by inverting the phone’s colours. If you install it, make sure to enable full screen mode before doing that.
