Samsung Galaxy S9 concept leaked

GalaxyS9Blog.com has recently released a pretty detailed concept video on Galaxy S9. According to the concept art, Galaxy C9 will be a bezel-less device, with whole of its front covered by the display. Iris scanner, camera, speakers and fingerprint scanner are supposedly all embedded into the display. Impressive. Since the concept art shows no battery port, it is possible that S9 will only have wireless charge capabilities. What else? Ah, the phone’s specification. Well, here is everything that the video lists:– 5.7′ display, 4k, Gorilla Glass,– 6/8GB RAM and 64/128GB ...

A bunch of iPhone leaks and news; iPhone 8 and iPhone 7s

Part of the news below is derived from the HomePod firmware code. I will allow myself to omit technical explanations of obtaining them. Look it up online if you feel like it, dear reader, I would rather keep this post compact:- iPhone 8’s cameras will be vertically aligned,– iPhone 8’s FACE ID facial recognition system is said to work even when the phone is lying flat. KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated the same a month ago, so this one is most probably true,– Apple is reportedly planning to stop using the Touch ID system in the near future,– iPhone 7s will come ...

Facebook is allegedly working on a video chat device

It did not work out with smartphones, so now FB is trying out a different device avenue. Word on the e-street is that FB is working on a video chat device nowadays. The thing is said to be the size of a laptop; its features include touchscreen and ”smart camera”. Everything else that we know is that it is in prototype phase and that it will not come out sooner than in 2018. Tweet Vote on HN ...

Galaxy Note 9 may have in-display fingerprint scanner

According to an already unavailable report from KGI, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will come out with a fingerprint sensor built into the phone’s display. Samsung’s decision is said to have been influenced by Apple moving away from the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner in its upcoming iPhone 8 – in other words, Samsung wants to keep up with the gimmicks. Report also states that Note 9’s fingerprint scanner will use Egis sensors, which is significantly costlier than Synaptics, sensors that the company used before. These are extremely early rumours – after all, Galaxy Note ...

Samsung ramps up the OLED panels production

According to a Korean (yeah, South Korean) report, Samsung wants to drastically increase the production output of OLED panels. Seven different production lines are said to increase their output by 700%, going from making 15,000 panels per month to 105000. Such an increase would amount to roughly 130 million screens per year (I see a different number, but I was never good at math) – although it would probably be much lower due to random events and technical difficulties. How will this influence Apple turning to LG for its OLED panel supply, we do not ...

Sony G8441 made it to benchmark listings agains

New Sony mobile device, listed as Sony G8441 has just been listed on Geekbench. This is not the first time this phone this device was listed on benchmarks, as it was already listed on AnTuTu a couple weeks ago. Geekbench benchmark added more info to the already known specification. As it is now, Sony G8441 (which may or may not turn out to be Xperia Z1 Compact) will look like this:– 5.2′ display, 720p or FHD resolution,– Snapdragon 835 CPU,– 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM,– 8mpx/8mpx camera setup,– 2800mAh battery.Rumours from even earlier, from May, paint G8441 in an ...

Evan Blass leaks newest Moto X4 pictures

Wow. Turns out Evan Blass CAN sometimes be wrong! Last month, @evleaks shared a leaked render of the Moto X4 device, back then still known as Moto X (2017). New render followed at the end of July. Now, on August 4th, Mr. Blass not only shares new picture of the device, but also admits that earlier leaks were either outdated or simply wrong. Astonishing. Of course everyone understands (I hope) that it is human to make mistakes and that Evan Blass is still our top leakster.Anyway, you can see the new pictures above. Catches aren’t of top quality, but just enough for us to read the ...

Moto E4 Plus out for pre-orders in the US

Two days ago I had a pleasure of writing about an impending Moto E4 Plus release in the United States. Well, it is August 4th now and Moto E4 Plus is indeed out in land of starts’n’stripes. If you are interested in the device’s availability or specification, check out the article linked – I’ll only add that the phone can be pre-ordered now, but will not physically reach the US until August 11th. Kudos. Tweet Vote on HN ...

First complete render of LG V30

Seeing how the wallpaper of the phone in question is not an official iPhone one, it can be reasoned that the source of the image is just as unofficial. Still, render shows enough similiarity to what we heard V30 will be like (round corners, slim bezel, roughly 6′ screen) that it may as well be an actual, legitimate render. Enjoy.
