Coffee versus smut, or the war between Starbucks and YouPorn
News of the day: the war between the popular coffee store line and pornography website has begun. Long story short, the whole ruckus started when Starbucks got fed up with people using its free wifi to watch porn. Wanting to put an end to this rigamarole, the store put out a ban on porn in its restaurants. Well, not a complete ban – while it is now impossible to watch hardcore porn in Starbucks, you can still watch ”adult movies” there – I will let the fans of both figure out the difference. YouPorn did not take kindly to it; its riposte was to ban its employees from ...

According to CNN, an unknown thief recently stole the tech that Samsung uses to make its Galaxy F(old?) smartphone/tablet. 11 people have received charges, with three of them already in custody. Police is still looking for two unaccounted suspects. It is belived that two chinese companies have already bought the tech for equivalent of 150 million dollars.I wonder which one of them will advertise ”their” product first. Tweet Vote on HN ...
Fuchsia, or new OS by Google
Chrome OS and Android may be the most popular operating systems on the market, but that does not mean that Google does not want to one up itself. First time we have heard of Fuchsia was two years ago, but it was pretty much just a mention. Now, though, much more info regarding the OS has been released online. We now know that the device will be released on smartphones, PCs, tablets and Home Hub smart loudspeaker or, in other words, for most electronics that there are in most people’s homes. Some people believe that Fuchsia will also be made for smart gadgets like health bands and ...
Screenshot made by Samsung Galaxy A8s just leaked
Federal Communications Commission has just uploaded a screenshot made with the Galaxy A8s smartphone. A careful glance at the shot gives us some information about this device. The screen’s proportions seem to be 19,5:9, which is a step forward from Samsung’s usual 18,5:9. The upper left corner of the screen is also quite interesting. If you look closely, you can see that the icons there are somewhat pushed away from the edge of the display towards its middle – that is probably to make room for the in-display camera that will be embedded there.By the way, both Galaxy A8s ...
YouTube Red will soon be free
YouTube Red, paid subscription giving access to, among other things, ad-free videos and the Originals videos, will soon be available for free. As usually, there will be a catch – Originals videos will be available, yes, but only with ads. Of course those of us who still pay for YT Red will see those videos without the advertisements. What do you think about it? Personally I never cared about the Originals videos, but I will be sure to use this chance to see what all the ruckus was ...

Android One program HTC U11 Life has its OS updated in Europe
The Android One program continues its relentless work against the Android OS fragmentation. Its newest victory is updating the 2017 smartphone HTC U11 Life’s operating system to its newest version, 9 Pie. Device used to run on Oreo and, without the Android One program, it probably would not see the Pie update for a long time, if ever. The update is currently available over-the-air in parts of Europe, and will eventually cover the whole old continent (hopefully). The US update will have to wait, as their U11 Life comes with a Sense skin that requires more work in order to get it to ...
Samsung’s foldable device may be called Galaxy Fold
Samsung’s mysterious foldable tablet/smartphone will be released sometime in 2019. Much about this device is kept in secret, its name among other things. This, in turn, leads to a number of rumours and gossip spreading around what will this ”Galaxy F” be called. Well, one such rumour has just been created by leaked trademark filed by Samsung. It has the company protect the ”Samsung Galaxy Fold” moniker for possible future use. This is a pretty strong inclination that Fold will be the device’s name. Of course this may as well be a name for some future ...
Microsoft Office gets new icons, finally looks decent
I understand that the looks of Office are not a very important part of the suite, but it is nice to know someone cares about them as well. New icons look modern, and what is more important, they are easy to find – something that is pretty important for mobile device users with small displays. Office’s new robes are an effect of Microsoft using the Fluent Design design, which has also been used in new Windows 10 looks. The new icons can be checked out here. Tweet Vote on ...
