The Android One program continues its relentless work against the Android OS fragmentation. Its newest victory is updating the 2017 smartphone HTC U11 Life’s operating system to its newest version, 9 Pie. Device used to run on Oreo and, without the Android One program, it probably would not see the Pie update for a long time, if ever. The update is currently available over-the-air in parts of Europe, and will eventually cover the whole old continent (hopefully). The US update will have to wait, as their U11 Life comes with a Sense skin that requires more work in order to get it to work on Pie. Download weights 720 megabytes, so better make sure your device is charged up before updating it.
