Hope it does better than the last one! Whether it will or will not, I do not know. What I do know is this:– Microsoft’s new mobile OS is being tested as we speak,– its interface is supposedly similiar to the old one,– Os is said to support universal applications. That is all. No date or release or any other morsel of info. Who knows, maybe Microsoft will finally become popular among mobile users? What do you think? Tweet Vote on HN ...

Ryonghung iPad, tablet from… North Korea
Well, well, well… I am speechless. Well, mostly because I am too busy rolling on the floor, laughing.*five minutes and one aspirin pill later*Okay, I am good now. So… North Korea has once again shown its technologial superiority to the rest of the world. Ryonghung iPad is basically a badly made parody, excuse me, I mean ripoff of Apple’s mobile device. This beast (specification: 1GB RAM, 8GB storage with an USD slot, 4-core 1.2GHz CPU, Internet connection (!!)) will not be, naturally, available to the common citizen of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. No ...
Facebook account name will now be a required element of US visa application
For better or for worse, these are interesting times for those who want to live in the US. I will not argue for or against the new American government, but it is easy to see that there has been a number of changes in the US security policy lately: citizens of several Arabic countries are banned from traveling to the country; electronic devices are banned from aboard planes flying to the country; and now this – Facebook account name becoming a required part of an application for the US visa. Yep, you read me right. From now on, those who want to receive an USA visa will have to input ...
Few tips on how to prevent physical harm from your phone
I wanted to write a nice entry paragraph on how smartphones are a common commodity nowadays, that they are an important part of everyone’s life and how they need to be protected or one can face losing what is basically another body part, but I reckon that everyone already knows all that jazz. Instead, I will skip the introduction and just give you guys and girls a few tips on how to keep your iPhones, Huaweis, Samsungs and Nokias from getting physically damaged, so that you can call, text, browse and play on your mobiles to your heart’s content.1. Be sure to know where your ...

Russians are working on a new Skype
Everyone here knows Skype, right? One of the most popular instant messengers, allowing for a single and group chatrooms as well as video and audio calls. It is thanks to Skype that, for example, a citizen of Canada can talk to his bud working in Israel. Well, it looks like Russians have heard of Skype too and are now working on their own. Rostec (darn, a name like that can do in a sci-fi movie. Just change this c into a k or ck and voila), a Russian technology company that works on the ”Russian Skype”, has already shared a bit of info on their project. Function-wise, their ...

Essential – first new phone of one of Android co-creators. Premiere soon?
Andy Rubin, ex-CEO of Android, has left his company some time ago to create his own, Essential Products (heh, nice one) and is working on a phone. Device’s name is, yep, Essential. We do not know a lot about this newcomer. Phone’s specification is a mystery, but, thankfully, Bloomberg has dug out a few interesting details on the device. According to Bloomberg, Essential will be a frame-less device, basically meaning that it will have a large screen but the phone’s overall size will still be compact. It is said to be modify-able, much like Lenovo Moto Z is with Modo Mods; ...
Citizens of China will have to register their drones starting 1st of June
New precept will be passed by the Chinese Civil Aviation Administration and will affect all the drones that weight more than 250 gram. Registration process can be complete by the internet. Precept’s goal is to decrease the danger caused by an irresponsible usage of drones (how exacly, I do not know. Maybe by making it easier to find the culprit if his/her drone is registered?). Why should it interest us? Drone market is larger by the day, and such laws have already been enacted in the US. Sooner or later, they will be implemented in your country as well. ...
Nothing is free in life, or Google plans to cash in on Google Assistant
Google offers most of its services for free (unless you count in the amount of information it collects on you; if so, then it already earns enough), hence no wonder the company tries to find new ways to make profit. Rumour is that Google plans on making money with its Google Assistant. How? With, well, ads. cringes from all the booing* I know, I know! It sucks. Or at least sounds like it may suck. I mean, who likes ads? Advertisements are the bane of modern Internet and the idea of them encroaching into electronic appliance is very much frowned upon, and rightly so. All we can do is hope ...
