It is old news that Apple is now facing twenty six lawsuits regarding the battery downgrading scandal. ”New news” is that not only private citizens have an axe to grind with Apple; senator John Thune, president of the Federal Trade Commission, have issued a letter to Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, where he touches on a few subjects that are mighty uncomfortable for the bitten apple company, like:– why did Apple not react to a large number of downgraded battery complaints before the downgrade was indisputably proven by a third party, and– why is Apple charging, even if the ...

Apple iOS 11.2.2 greatly throttles the performance of some phones
Like, really greatly. 50% of performance drain kind of greatly. Apple has recently released an iOS 11.2.2 update for iPhones. The update was supposed to protect the phones against a newly infamous Spectre vulnerability. Apple predicted that it will cause the phones’ performance to drop, but numbers estimated were no bigger than 2.5% drop. Well… one Melvin Mughal, a seemingly well-known tech developer, has calculated that the performance of his iPhone 6 dropped by roughly 40% after downloading the latest iOS 11.2.2 update, and there are people who report losing even more working ...
Pokemon Go drops support for most iPhone 5 series and earlier. Reason? Too old OS
In a move that may annoy some of the less modernized iPhone users, Niantic, developer of Pokemon Go, decided to stop supporting devices that cannot run iOS 11. That includes iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPad mini, iPad 4, iPod touch 5 and earlier devices. iPhone 5s users ae lucky, as that phone supports iOS 11. This is what Niantic had to say on the subject:”In an upcoming update to Pokémon GO, we will end support for Apple devices not capable of upgrading to iOS 11, such as iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c models. This change is a result of improvements to Pokémon GO that push the application beyond ...

iPhones may become less expensive in 2018
iPhones are by no means cheap. One can argue about whether or not their price corresponds to their quality, but it simply cannot be denied that they cost a lot of money. According to Digitimes, Apple plans on increasing next year’s revenue by – colour me surprised – decreasing the price of its smartphones. Items that are to be priced lower are said to be iPhone X, 8 and 8 Plus. They will still be relatively expensive, but a 50 to 100 dollars price cut is nothing to sneeze at. Price cuts are said to take place in the USA, Taiwan and Singapur. There is no word on them taking ...
Apple offers large discounts on battery replacements
So, yeah, back to the Apple battery controversy. I would give you links to our posts on the topic, but you have certainly already read them and a million others. Company’s first move is to offer very large discounts on battery replacement for owners of iPhone 6 or newer – $29 instead of Apple’s usual ...

As it now turns out, a number of iPhone users took particular dislike to this event, and decided to sue Apple.Yesterday, there were eight lawsuits against Apple – it is quite possible there are ...

The ship of anger has sailed, or how Apple is deliberately choking its older phones’ performance
People have been gossiping about it for months now. Some did not listen, others defended Apple, but some kept digging. As it turns out, the truth was indeed out there.Apple is a piece of sh… well, I do not like them much.Probably not many of you, dear readers, care about my personal opinion. Those of you who are the staunchest readers of IMEI24, though, surely have picked up on that I do not like big corporations. There is no great philosophy behind my feelings towards them – it is just a simple mistrust towards people who, in the name of money and power, do their best to flood ...
iPhone X is finally widely available
iPhone X debuted on November 3rd, one and a half months ago. Until pretty much today, though, the phone was harder to get than my ex-girlfriend, mostly because of Apple’s factories lacking sufficient supplies for a full-blown production. Luckily (I think) iPhone X’s production is now fully on track, with up to 550 thousand units being splurg… produced every day. Thanks to this, X is now pretty widely available in at least most countries in the world; if it is not, it will be soon.Specification, in case you were living under a rock:– 5.8′ screen, Super Retina, ...
