Samsung is one of those phone makers who like their products to have multiple colour variants. While we will only know which colour variants will make it to the final product at its release on February 25th, a number of leaks and rumours already points out to some possible and probable tints:– shade of silver and black are almost guaranteed, seeing how most Samsung devices of the past had one or both. These variants will probably be Arctic Silver and Midnight Black,– Orchid Grey was a popular colour on earlier Galaxy models, and as such is likely to make a reappearance,– ...

Samsung Galaxy S9 leak, design and new feature confirmed
Galaxy S9 is promising much in terms of specifications but so far has met with lukewarm excitement, mainly due to the rumours of small battery and old design. Latest leak sheds more light on Samsung’s flagship project, and while most of it is good, some is not. This is what we heard:– the design is staying the same, as in, old. If you want to take a gander, the phone will probably look like this. Overall the phone will look very much like S8, with main differences being fingerprint scanner placed centrally under the camera, as well as Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus being a bit ...
Nokia 8 Sirocco’s rumoured specs
According to the newest rumours, which may or may not turn out to be true, Sirocco will have pretty neat specifications. IP67 water and dust-proofness? Check. Zeiss certified 12mpx + 13mpx dual rear camera & 5mpx front camera? Check. 3250mAh battery? Check. Snapdragon 835 CPU? Check, although some people believe that it will actually have an even newer Snapdragon. 128GB storage? Check. Lastly, 5.5′ OLED display? Yep, check.Again, these are just rumours, and ones that do not come from any 100% quality sources. All we know is that HMD plans on Sirocco being a real high-end device, ...
iPhone X users report incoming call delays
Sigh… I would really prefer to write something positive about Apple for a change, but the world simply will not let me. Anyway, back to the point. Reportedly, a large number of people have taken to Apple forums to complain about a new iPhone X bug, namely a delay in the phone’s screen waking up to a call coming through. This leads to the delay in accept/decline buttons showing up; in other words, you have to wait a few seconds before picking up or declining a phone call. Delay is said to last between 6 and 10 seconds – considerable. Restarting the phone has been said to ...
Busted! Chinese counterfeit caught after selling $1.1 million worth of fake Apple products
Gotcha! China-based group that made its living trafficking and smuggling fake iPhone and iPad devices has plead guilty to charges of trafficking and conspiracy. Heading the group was one Jianhua ”Jeff” Li, ex-employee of Dream Digitals company. ”Jeff” conspired with at least three other persons, with whom he smuggled over fourty thousand fake iPhone and iPad units from China to US between years 2009 and 2014. The group’s method was relatively simple; Li was bringing their fake Apple products to the US separately from their counterfeit trademarks. Then, already ...
Alcatel 3X makes an appearance; Android 7.1.1, 3k battery
Oh, wow, it has been a while since I wrote anything about Alcatel… kinda forgot what to do… Ehm. Info on new Alcatel phones has been hard to come by ever since the CES 2018 reveal of Alcatel 1, Alcatel 3, and Alcatel 5 series. What info we have has had to be meticulously scrounged up by XDA Developers. Thanks, guys. So, what can I tell you about the Alcatel 3X thanks to the hard work of others? Well, the device has recently made small appearances on both FCC and Wi-Fi Alliance. They were not particulary informative, but we have learned a few things things from them. The first one ...
Kaz Hirai steps down as CEO of Sony, CFO Kenichiro Yoshida will take over
Bit of a shuffle in Sony’s leadership takes place, with ex-CEO Kaz Hirai transitioning into a chairman role and Kenichiro Yoshida becoming a new chief executive officer. Officially, Kenichiro Yoshida will be taking over on April 1st. According to Variety news site, the reason for Hirai stepping down is being ”worn down from the travel schedule he’s maintained during the past six years as CEO”. It may well be true; leading any large company is hard work. Hirai taking on the role of a chairman is not 100% confirmed but probable. Kenichiro Yoshida commented by saying ...
Samsung Experience 9.0 for Galaxy S8 and S8+. Features
Public beta tests took a good few months, but Samsung Experience 9.0 is finally making its way to the Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones. Official rollout will probably begin before the end of February. Cool, but why should you care? Well, because Experience 9.0 (for those not in the known, Samsung Experience is basically a bunch of enhancements that Samsung adds to the Android – in this case, Android 8.0 Oreo – that works only on Samsung phones) will bring with it a large amount of pretty nifty features. These features are:– customizable keyboard toolbar,– high-contrast ...
Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) receives its January security patch update
It looks like Samsung’s updates are finally catching up with its more flagship devices. Yesterday, Note 8 got its security update; today it is A8+’s turn. The update is rolling out in India, with other markets probably following soon. Update weights 114 megabytes, which leads some to believe that it contains little more than Spectre and Meltdown fixes. If you want to make sure whether or not the update is available in your country, go to Settings > Software update > Download updates ...
