Phones will not kill any more, or how Android P and others put a stop to gun emotes
Android P operating system has recently changed its gun emote; instead of an actual pistol, it now presents a water gun. The change can be pretty surely tracked to the latest mass shootout that recently have become America’s national pasttime. Since no company wishes to risk being somehow connected to the future and past trageides, many smartphone providers decide to ”chicken out” and remove any gun icons from their phones’ completely. Google is not the first one to do so, too: both Microsoft and Apple have got rid of them way in 2016. Gun emotes can still be found ...
Ouchies, or Samsung Galaxy S9 has a nasty graphic bug
Oh dear, oh my; a relatively serious bug has just been found in the Galaxy S9 smartphone. As it turns out, the Snapdragon 845 version of the smartphone is prone to crashing when under strain AND running a Samsung Internet Browser. Tests revealed that the same thing does not happen when using Google Chrome or other browsers.Patch is on the way, although there is no official word on its release date. For now I can only suggest not using the Samsung Internet ...

Text being in Dutch may or may hint at a release wider than US-only, as previous Active phones used to be. Tweet Vote on HN ...

iPhone 8 receives iOS 11 update, fixes the unresponsive screen issue
Apple has recently released iOS 11.3.1, an update to its operating system. Among the various fixes it provides, the arguably most important one is the iPhone 8 frozen screen one. You see, a few weeks ago iOS 11.3 introduced a bug to iPhone 8 thanks to which any iPhone 8 screen that was not an official Apple product (e.g a new screen from a third-party, put in to substitute a broken original one) would become unresponsive to touch. To nobody’s surprise, this turned out to be a software issue, likely put in place to prevent iPhone owners from using third-party services. Whether or not ...
