Kaz Hirai steps down as CEO of Sony, CFO Kenichiro Yoshida will take over
Bit of a shuffle in Sony’s leadership takes place, with ex-CEO Kaz Hirai transitioning into a chairman role and Kenichiro Yoshida becoming a new chief executive officer. Officially, Kenichiro Yoshida will be taking over on April 1st. According to Variety news site, the reason for Hirai stepping down is being ”worn down from the travel schedule he’s maintained during the past six years as CEO”. The update is, for now, only available in the UK, and there is yet no word on other regions where it will be available; UK is probably a ”testing ground” of sorts.
