The European Commission has approved Google’s proposed $12.5 billion acquisition of Motorola Mobility. “This is an important milestone in the approval process and it moves us closer to closing the deal,” said Google in a statement. “We are now just waiting for decisions from a few other jurisdictions before we can close this transaction. Motorola today announced an approximate schedule for planned upgrades to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its devices.
