Samsung Galaxy S7 caught fire while in car
Well well; it has been more than a week since the last time I wrote about a burning phone, I have to make up for lost time. Shaunique Lamb (nice name), 27 years old, U.S., was driving her car when her phone suddenly blew up. According to Shaunique, the device was not charging – it was, reportedly, resting in the car’s cupboard, with Shaunique listening to music via Bluetooth, when the incident took place. Samsung has already been informed about the incident and promised to investigate. As always. One thing has me thinking. Why do we hear of no such incidents taking place in ...

Zombie Gunship Survival – zombie game with a twist coming to Android in May
Zombie Gunship Survival is a sequel to the 2011 game Zombie Gunship. Original was an interesting take on the old zombie apocalypse theme: you were put in command of a gunship, an armed military aircraft, and were tasked with destroying the undead menace on ground using 3D thermal image vision. ZG Survival does the same, but more; in addition to destroying the undead, you will also have to protect the on-ground troops, who will collect resources. These, in turn, will allow you to build up your base of operation, which in turn will allow multiple upgrades to your vehicle.Neither exact date of ...
UK steps up penalties for drivers caught using phone
As of March 1, any young (having less than two years of driving experience) driver caught using his/her phone while driving will lose their license. Older drivers do not heavy it easy as well – if they earn more than twelve points in three years of driving, they can have their license suspended. A £200 fine, double the amount it was before, has also been implemented. Harsh new policies are response to UK drivers behaving irresponsibly with their phones – just between January 23 and 29, 3600 drivers have been cited by the police.Long story short, don’t use your phone ...
Hanger-camera, or it is time to get even more paranoid
There is a new device on the market that will make you cringe even more at the thought of how your privacy can be violated. Forget about bugs, wiretap and hidden cameras; this thing can be put in any place and no one will even notice it. Seriously, it looks like a hanger, it could perfectly blend in with, say, a hotel room’s bathroom. Camera’s battery allows for seventy minutes of work, but it is set so that it will only record when it notices movement; otherwise, the device will stay inactive. This hanger-camera is dirt cheap, and can be bought for around thirteen bucks online. ...
Mininova, the oldest torrent website around, is shutting down
Oh well, no skin off my nose, I’ve been using Torre… eee, hi! Ehm… anyway, Mininova will shut down its forums in a day or two, and in a month, on 4th of April, the website itself. Official reason, stated by the site’s owners, is that the site does not bring enough revenue. It probably has something to do with how the illegal Internet content is being fought tooth and nail all around the world lately – ThePirateBay and Torrentz are but some of the websites that were put down in the last months. Whether this is good or bad is up to you.Sim-unlock.net is a system ...

Doogee 2017 flagship phone, what do we know about it?
An unknown source from China (which has its information, allegedly, from the producers themselves) believes that the upcoming Doogee flagship will be hot sh… stuff. Very hot, in fact. Personally, I want to believe her/him – an awesome Chinese smartphone would help take the stigma of shoddy craftsmanship off Chinese products. Doogee 2017 (what an original name – it will probably be changed to something less cringy later on) is reported to come packing a very impressive 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage memory, Android 7.1 OS (the newest Android around), 10-core MediaTek Helio ...
