UK steps up penalties for drivers caught using phone

As of March 1, any young (having less than two years of driving experience) driver caught using his/her phone while driving will lose their license. Older drivers do not heavy it easy as well – if they earn more than twelve points in three years of driving, they can have their license suspended. A £200 fine, double the amount it was before, has also been implemented. Harsh new policies are response to UK drivers behaving irresponsibly with their phones – just between January 23 and 29, 3600 drivers have been cited by the police.

Long story short, don’t use your phone while driving in the UK, or you will regret it. Better yet, don’t use your phone while driving anywhere. Better safe than sorry.
