Samsung is reportedly working on an inward-folding smartphone

While Samsung working on a folding smartphone is nothing new (it will be awesome when it comes to fruition, but we have heard about the plans for a good few years now), the company always mentioned it is an outward-folding device. According to a newest report though, what the company is proposing is an inward-folding device with 3R curvature (whatever that means). Does this mean that Samsung abandoned its long-going project and started a new one? If true, this news means that we will probably not see a curved device anytime soon, no matter which way it curves in. ...

This is the first solid bit of news on the Galaxy A5 (2018) we have had in a while; last time I wrote about the phone, it was to show a picture that may or may not have presented it. What we now know, according to Geekbench, is that the phone will come with:– Exynos 7885 CPU, eight cores, clocked at 1.59GHz,– 4 gigabytes of RAM,– Android 7.1.1 operating system.Rumour is that the phone will also have a Bixby AI assistant and an Infinity Display. We will see – probably sometime in early ...

270 units of Galaxy Note 8 sold over weekend just in Korea, or how Samsung makes cha-ching

Ever since its debut on 15th September, over 270 thousand Koreans have bought themselves a Galaxy Note 8 smartphone (South Koreans, naturally. North Koreans maybe one half a Samsung that someone accidentally dropped into the border river). Pretty large number, especially considering the phone’s rather hefty price of KRW 950950, or 849 pounds. The only Samsung phone that sold better than that is Galaxy S8, who sold 260 thousand units just on day one. Tweet Vote on HN ...

Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) and A Tab 8.0 are about to receive Android update

Two Samsung devices have been spotted in GFXBench and Geekbench benchmark logs; Galaxy J5 (2016) smartphone and A Tab 8.0 tablet. According to these logs, both the phone and the tablet will have their OS’ updated to Android Nougat 7.1.1. Some believe this to be an error in writing and that the device’s systems will be updated to just Nougat 7.0. I guess we will wait and see.We do not know when will the updates become available for download, but presumably soon. Tweet Vote on ...

Verizon releases first OTA update for Galaxy Note 8

Which is hilarious, because Galaxy Note 8 only just comes out today. But hey, this is 21st century, I should be used to day one updates by now. Anyhoo, the update’s kernel version is 4.4.21. It will turn Verizon’s Galaxy Note 8 software version to N950USQU1AQI5.What is the update’s changelog? Oh, the usual. It fixes some bugs and improves phone’s performance and stability. It also improves the stability of Google Maps and Navigation apps and Weather widget. The update does not, uhm, update phone’s security featues to September, so you will have to wait for that ...

Foldable Samsung Galaxy X may launch next year

Who knows, perhaps the foldable Galaxy X is nearing the end of its long, long development process? The first time we have ever heard about Samsung’s attempt at foldable phones was way back in 2011. Ever since then Galaxy X suffered numerous leaks, gossips and release dates. Today we get another (rather general) release date given to the phone. This one, though, has much more credibility than most of the earlier rumoured dates. Why? Because this time it is Koh Dong-Jin, president of Samsung Mobile himself, stating that Samsung Galaxy X will be released sometime during 2018.Whether or ...
