LG V50 ThinQ 5G’s South Korean launch delayed

The news comes from LG’s own official announcement. According to the company, the phone, which original launch date was April 19th, will be released at a later, yet unspecified date. The reason for the delay is LG wanting to properly optimize the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and Qualcomm X50 5G modem that the phone sports. Seeing how the already released Samsung Galaxy S10 5G’s owners have issues with their own 5G connectivity, that might be the right call. Tweet Vote on ...

LG says they have no plans of making a foldable device

Foldable devices are all the rage these days, but not everyone wants to get on that particular hype train. It seems that LG now plays the role of that one kid that hangs out along in the background because they are too cool for whatever fun activity is currently going on; at least that is (minus the exaggeration) what Brian Kwon, head of mobile communications and home entertainment divisions of LG, have said. According to Kwon, the company considered working on its own foldable phone but decided to wait and see how the users respond to the new technology first. Kwon says that LG will ...

The display of LG G8 ThinQ will also be its loudspeaker

LG will show off its newest flagship, G8 ThinQ, on this year’s MWC 2019, but even before that we will get a look at one of the device’s more interesting features. The name of this feature is Crystal Sound – it is a technology that LG already uses in its TVs that allows the device’s display to also play the role of a loudspeaker. Technicalities of how this happens are complicated, having something to do with the glass vibrations, but it does not matter. G8 ThinQ will have two loudspeakers, one build into its lower front panel and the other one being its display, ...

LG G7 ThinQ Android 9 Pie update is coming closer

A new message has just been posted on South Korean’s LG website. According to it, G7 ThinQ will receive its OS update in the, quote, ”first quarter of 2019”. People more in the know-how than I believe this rough estimate to be true, especially since the device’s beta has been available in South Korea since November. Guess we have to sit tight and wait for more information. Tweet Vote on HN ...

Restart loop affects LG G7

Restart loop is a pretty nasty glitch that causes the bugged device to be unable to properly start; instead it keeps on restarting over and over again until hard reset. This unfortunate glitch has reportedly began to plague a number of LG G7 smartphones. The reason for G7’s restart loop is currently unknown. Thankfully, LG reacted in the best possible way, namely by allowing every affected unit to be exchanged for a working one. You have to contact the LG tech support first, though. We will let you know if the reason and possible fix for the problem have been ...
