It has recently come to the attention of many users that there is an issue with the iOS 11.4. Namely, this particular OS seems to be a heavy drain on the iPhone’s accumulator, most noticeably in standby mode, when the phone is supposed to drain very little battery power. Apple website has already reached 33 pages of complaints regarding this problem. This post explains the issue pretty well:”My iPhone 6 was working perfectly fine until I updated to iOS 11.4 and ever since I did that my battery is draining rapidly even without me using it at all. I used to go a full day without ...

One such video has just been released, and it is an entertaining one. Wthout spoiling the plot, it shows us how iPhone X’s FaceID can save the day for us – or at least not lose sleep over forgetting passwords. Tweet Vote on HN ...

Benchmark of phone that may be iPhone x popped out on Geekbench
Benchmark of a device called iPhone11,1 has just been released on Geekbench. Two facts serve as a semi-proof for this device being iPhone X: first one is the fact that the iPhone X is coming out soon; second one is that quite some of the new devices’ specs coincide with what we heard about iPhone X.New benchmark covers a considerate portion of device’ specification. Among the more interesting parts of it are the Apple A12 CPU, 4GB RAM and the iOS12 operating system. Phones’ cores test looks pretty interesting: it scored 4673 in single core and 10912 in multiple cores ...
Samsung Galaxy S10 will get a feature that everybody wanted on iPhone X
According to the Korean news site The Bell, Galaxy S10 will have its iris scanner removed in favour of fingerprint on display scanner – something that Apple’s iPhone X was supposed to have. It seems that Samsung has finally came to the point where he and his subsidiaries can mass produce components neccessary for the in-display fingerprint recognition. After checking with company’s suppliers, The Bell discovered that no iris authentication components have been ordered for the Galaxy S10 production.By the way, it has also been suggested that the Galaxy S10 might also have a ...
Curio – iPhone X might not have had any junctions
As we know, iPhone X has no headphone jack (which is a shame). As it turns out though, Apple was also planning on removing the Lightning port; at least so says Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. In his article Mr. Gurman states that the company was seriously considering removing all the ports from their smartphone. He does not say why, though – we can only assume that Apple have not had the quote on quote balls to go through with such a radical decision. Smartphone that could only be charged via an induction may still be too much for even a modern mobile user. ...

Apple received $6.6 million fine in Australia for bricking a number of devices
Apple has to pay nine million Australian dollars, or over six and a half million US bucks. The company lost a legal case to the consumer rights group. The case was related to how the company reacted after iOS updates bricked devices that had been repaired by third party service providers. Long story short, around 275 Apple owners in Australia have been denied a free repair of their broken phones between February 2015 and 2016 because they have had their phones fixed by third parties before. Australian court has ruled that Apple’s decision was in breach of Australian consumer law and ...
iOS 12 will show our location when we call the police
Apple is bringing a new function to the iOS 12. For now it will only be available in the US. This new function will quickly and automatically deliver our location to the police every time we call 911. The heart of this function is HELO system (Hybridized Emergency Location) that Apple implemented three years ago. Its goal is to, naturally, immediately deliver our location to the law enforcement so that they can react faster (as well as allowing the police to spy on us 24/7, but shhh). Personally I think that the idea is great on paper and would love to see it spread from the US as soon as ...
