BlackBerry Ghost and Ghost Pro may be launched in this quarter

According to rumours based on a couple renders released in the last two months, BlackBerry licensee Optiemus is preparing two new and fancy smartphones: Ghost and Ghost Pro. Both are supposed to sport 18:9 aspect ratio, edge-to-edge screens and, probably, rear-placed biometric reader. These phones have no official launch date, but Hardip Singh, executive director of Optiemus, said in a review that two new BlackBerry phones will be released in Q2 2018. It is unsure whether these two phones will be Ghost and Ghost Pro, but it seems possible. ...

Surprise! BlackBerry Priv receives an update

Nobody expects two things: Spanish Inquisition and updates for old smartphones. We do not have to worry about the former anymore, but it seems that the latter is, thankfully, still a thing. BlackBerry Priv is an over three years old smartphone, and yet BlackBerry decided that it requires a new firmware version. The changelist of the update number (AAW068) is unknown, but the very fact that it has been released at all is a positive surprise. The update weights 100 megabytes, so there should be something significant in it. Possibly a bunch of security fixes. ...

Specific changes in the update are unknown but can be assumed to be a bunch of Android and BlackBerry vulnerability fixes. If it does not download onto your phone automatically, tap the Update button. Tweet Vote on HN ...

Picture of BlackBerry GHOST leaks. India exclusive? Possibly

@evleaks strikes again, this time with a nice little render of GHOST, BlackBerry’s latest smartphone. Device, designed and built by Indian company Optiemus, sports a smart, premium look. That edge to edge display looks pretty snappy. With that being said, I must get to the unfortunate point of GHOST most probably being an India exclusive smartphone. Reason for this is the fact that it was made by Optiemus, probably for use on its network. Hopefully this will turn out to be untrue and rest of the world will also be able to enjoy ...
