Samsung is pushing out a July security patch for the older Galaxy J5 smartphones in all of Europe. Update features a number of bug fixes and performance improvements, nothing major. It should download automatically at any moment now, but if it does not, head to Settings > About Device > Download Updates Manually.I am glad to see Samsung taking care of older phones, even budget ones, by keeping their security systems up to date. It is a shame, though, that Galaxy J5 still has not, and probably will not, receive an OS update to Nougat. Oh ...

Sony Xperia Z5 faces serious performance issues after the Android 7.1.1 update
Latest Xperia devices have been receiving Android 7.1.1 updates ever since the end of June, and for a while, everything was good. Now, though, it looks like the update is plagued by a number of issues that may destabilize performance of any updated Xperia Z5 smartphone. According to the word online, these issues include drastic drop in apps response speed, device crashing, rebooting out of blue and even increasing its temperature to unusually high levels.Sony has yet to release statement on the matter. One possible – though unofficial – solution to the problem is disabling the ...
Ya all watch for them cars, or an US city has banned phones at crosswalks
”Smartphone zombies”, they are called – people who walk the streets with their heads bent down to their smartphone screens, unaware of their environment. They are prone to walking into other people or objects on their way, sometimes saying ”Excuse me” before going back to whatever their smartphone’s screens offer them at the moment. These zombies are more and more often the cause of traffic accidents, especially when they walk the crosswalk without looking around – after all, why waste valuable time when they can instead gawk at their 5.5′ ...

Nokia 3 is getting upgraded to Android 7.1.1
Recently, Nokia unleashed three phones on us – Nokia 6, 5 and 3. Out of them, Nokia 3 is the low-budget one for those with empty wallets or small expectations. It was by no means a bad phone, just a minimalistic one. One of its actually bad sides, though, is the old OS it came out with. Nokia 6 and 5 were rolled out with spiffy Android 7.1.1, while ”3” has to be content with Android 7.0. Well, not for much longer! Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer at HMD Global, went on Twitter to announce that Nokia 3’s operating system will be upgraded to a shiny new Android ...
