We have already received a number of reports on the so called Splitgate; batteries in some of the iPhone 8’s seem to have a nasty tendency of swelling and pushing the phone aparat. That is always an interesting thing to write about, but today I have something much tastier and trendy for you.One iPhone 8 user, a Chinaman of unknown name and age, connected his phone to the charger in another room and went to bed, hoping that the phone will charge during the night. Upon waking up in the morning, he noticed smoke coming out of the room. When he entered, he saw his iPhone 8 in flames. ...

iPhone 8 does not sell well and it is not weird
What did you expect, miles long queues before Apple stores? It does not take a genius to see that iPhone 8 is just a slightly improved version of last year’s iPhone 7. Who will want to spend seven to nine hundred bucks on a phone that is just good and nothing more? Well, some people, certainly, but if Internet talk is any kind of indicator then there will not be many people of that kid. There is no official record of number of iPhone 8’s sold so far yet, but much can be deducted from what both the revievers and readers in comments say. ”Boring”, ”same thing as ...

O tempora o mores, or how Americans can now order food via Facebook
We never asked for it, we never wanted it and now we have it. Or at least I never asked for it. If you have, feel bad about yourself. Citizens of the US can now order food on Facebook using desktops, Android and iOS phones. How does this work? Pretty simple. You enter Facebook, go to search bar and type in ”Order Food”. You will then be presented with a number of nearby restaurants that can be ordered online from. You can then proceed to order food without leaving FB application. You can filter your food search by price or distance. In order to make this (order… ha!) ...
Surfaced renders of Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) And A7 (2018)
Thanks to OnLeaks we can now get a better look at two of Samsung’s upcoming smartphones. Just having a picture to look at would be boring and not very informative, so how about a 3D video? Anyway, here is what the renders show:– both devices are made of glass and metal,– Infinity Displays with 18:9 aspect ratio & 2160 by 1080p resolution, rumoured to be 5.5′ for A5 and 6′ for A7,– UCB-C and heaphone jack placed at the bottom of the device,– single rear camera with fingerprint scanner under it,– dual front cameras,– no Bixby button, ...
Oh my, oh dear, iPhone 7 has a wireless exploit
Google has just discovered an exploit that, without going into technical details of the how-whats, can allow someone to take remote control of the other person’s iPhone. The gate that allows the exploit to take place is reportedly seven glitches in WiFi Broadcom drivers. Exploit only allows to take control of an iPhone 7 with iOS 10.x.So far Apple has not made an official comment on the issue. I am sure it will be addressed any minute now. Tweet Vote on HN ...
Nokia 8 is NOT coming to the US
Sorry for the misinformation! Some time ago I wrote a small post about how Nokia 8 will be available in the land of freedom, justice and apple pie, but now this news has been, unfortunately, debunked. The above screen of a message written by Rex Fryhover, head of sales for HMD Global’s US branch, explains why it is so. The term ”not properly banded for the US” probably means connectivity bands for mobile data and telecoms.Sorry, Americans! There is always hope that Nokia will change its mind, or maybe it is just an innocent mistake and/or accidental ...
Nokia 9 renders leaked, curved design and more
Nokia 8 is out in Europe and India, but that is no reason why we cannot already set our tech-greedy eyes on its successor, right? OnLeaks has just released a leaked render of Nokia 9. OnLeaks is correct more often than not, so we can safely assume that this, more or less, is how the device will look like. So, what can we learn from this render?According to OnLeaks renders, which are based on factory CAD blueprints, Nokia 9 will be all about curves. Phone will be sporting dual cameras at the back panel, with fingerprint sensor underneath it. What itt will not have is a 3.5mm jack – too ...
New executive appointed to the development of Bixby 2.0
Bixby is not doing so well and Samsung is trying to save it up appointing a new development executive. The position of the head of Service Intelligence Group, the party maintaining and developing Bixby, is now taken by Samsung Research America’s Vice Chief Chung Eui-suk. The project that Eui-suk is working now, namely Bixby 2.0, will probably be announced at Samsung’s yearly Developer Conference on October 18. While Samsung promises ”much improvement, honest”, we do not really know anything about the 2.0. Hopefully Mr. Eui-suk can turn things around for Bixby and ...
Motorola Moto G5S Plus, a solid budget phone, specification
Long story short, for a budget phone, Moto G5S Plus is a really good smartphone. It has a large battery, good performance, very decent software and looks pretty. While not free of negatives – low quality cameras and speakers among them – it is still good enough to satisfy any customer that does not demand flagship level device.Specifications:– price – $229/$299,– 5.5′ LCD display, 401 ppi, FHD,– Snapdragon 625 CPU, 2GHz, 8-core,– Adreno 506 GPU,– 3/4GB RAM, 32/64GB storage memory,– Micro USB port,– annoyingly high-volume ...
