Windows changes its gun emoji, because looking at water pistols will decrease the number of shootings
Windows is the latest large company to follow the last two years’ trend of ”cartooning” gun emojis, trend which begun with the sudden rise of violent shootings in the US. After changing its revolver emoji into a more child-friendly version last year, Windows took another step in making sure that poor children will not see guns on their electronic devices and changes the revolver into the water pistol. Now all the largest tech giants out there – Windows, Apple, Samsung, Twitter, Google and Facebook – have exchanged their gun emojis for water gun ones. Cool, I ...

Someone tried to get the US president
A letter each have been sent to the admiral, secretary of defense and the president of the United States of America. Each one of them was laced with castor oil, a strong and easy to make poison. We do not know the sender of the letters, nor do we know his, her or their motivations. It is not the first time when someone tried to kill the president of the United States with a letter; even Barack Obama received such mail. All the earlier attempts at this method of killing was unsuccessful, foiled by the special team of men selected to carefully examine every letter coming to either the White ...
Apple fixes the iPhone Xs’ charging issue
I first wrote about this problem yesterday, and today I am happy to announce that it has been fixed. Not overly happy, though… because while Apple did fix the problem, it did so in a bad style. Apple has just released an update to its OS, and iOS 12.1 beta 2’s description is somewhat, how to put it, laconic. iPhone Xs owners were quick to notice, though, that downloading the update caused their smartphones to charge correctly. That is great – I am very glad that Americans were so quick about fixing such an important issue. What I am not happy about is how untransparent ...
