Windows is the latest large company to follow the last two years’ trend of ”cartooning” gun emojis, trend which begun with the sudden rise of violent shootings in the US. After changing its revolver emoji into a more child-friendly version last year, Windows took another step in making sure that poor children will not see guns on their electronic devices and changes the revolver into the water pistol. Now all the largest tech giants out there – Windows, Apple, Samsung, Twitter, Google and Facebook – have exchanged their gun emojis for water gun ones. Cool, I guess.

The update is already live for some Windows users, but it is rolling out in stages; if your Windows pistols are not green and plastic yet, they will be soon.
