Internet ads are annoying. Frankly, there is no other way to put it. Windows advertising uninteresting products pop up when we open a new website, small video windows appear in the corners of the screen, wide tabs with ads take place on top and bottom of screen where the text should be… it is all so irritating that it is difficult to not agree with South Park’s sentiments on the matter. Good uncle Google saw our troubles and said ”let there be clarity” and gave us AdBlock, which takes care of much of this trash. Unfortunately, AdBlock is not perfect, and we are still ...

iPhone XR may not be doing very well
Apple iPhone XR, a budget flagship that costs more than most flagships, does not sell well. Who would have thought? According to the stock market index Nikkei, customers interest in XR turned out to be lesser than Apple anticipated, and the company was forced to lower the number of XR production lines. Unfortunately, we do not have the specific sales numbers. What we have is knowledge that Apple has increased the production rate of iPhones 8 and 8 Plus. This repeats last year’s scenario, in which iPhone 7 became a much more popular choice after its price dropped due to the release of ...
Motorola Moto One and One Power will be available in the USA for $399
Moto One, Motorola smartphone that look suspiciously similiar to iPhone X, will be sold in the US. Motorola has managed to get Best Buy to offer its device on November 9th, with price tags of $399. Is this the right price for such a device? Judging by its specifications, it may be somewhat too high:– 5.9-inch LCD display, 720 x 1520 p,– Snapdragon 625 processor,– 4GB RAM and 64GB flash memory,– 3000mAh battery,– Android 8.0 Oreo (that is kinda old).Device will be available in retail on November ...

Yet another Facebook data leak. This time the hackers have our private messages
And once again I am glad that I barely use Facebook anymore. As announced by BBC, Facebook has been hacked, with cyber-thieves taking the data of 81 thousand accounts’ private messages. The hackers themselves, naturally hiding behind the mask of anonymity, have announced that they really stole the data of 120 million FB accounts, but this reveleation has been so far unconfirmed and is believed to be untrue. As for Facebook, it has let the police know of the intrusion and has taken proper measures to defend against any such attacks in the future (yeah, right). Most of the robbed ...

Apple versus gas
An atypical and quite interesting story. A helium leak took place in one of Chicago’s hospitals, probably due to a malfunction of an MRI scan device. Thankfully the leak has proven to be harmless to hospitalized as well as personnel… but not so much to their Apple devices. Most of Apple’s devices in the hospital turned off and refused to turn back on; some of them did not respond when connected to a charger; some worked but their touch screens did not respond to touch. Most of the devices begun to work properly again after a few days, although one iPhone suffered major ...
Nubia X officially. Two displays and more
ZTE has just officially presented its newest device, a Nubia X smartphone. The phone will be available for sale in China starting next week; we do not know when or if at all will it be sold in other countries. I wish ZTE fans that they will get their hands on the phone; in the meantime, lets take a look at the device’s specs:– two screens, the main selling point of the device. 6.26′ AMOLED display, 1080 x 2280 p and 5.1′ AMOLED display, 720 x 1520 p on the rear,– Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 CPU, 8-core, Adreno 630 GPU,– 6 or 8 GB RAM, 64, 128 or 256 GB flash ...

iPhone 8 and X get performance management options
You surely remember last year’s scandal with Apple lowering its older smartphones’ performances in order to ”keep them working longer, not to make you buy new models, honest”, right? It ended with Apple lowering prices of battery changing as well as giving us a software option of deciding whether we want to lower our phones’ performance or use them to their fullest capabilities. Up until recently, there was no such option for iPhones 8 and X, but now, with the 12.1 iOS update, they have received it. Apple even states that the management feature will work better ...
