iPhone 8 and X get performance management options

You surely remember last year’s scandal with Apple lowering its older smartphones’ performances in order to ”keep them working longer, not to make you buy new models, honest”, right? It ended with Apple lowering prices of battery changing as well as giving us a software option of deciding whether we want to lower our phones’ performance or use them to their fullest capabilities. Up until recently, there was no such option for iPhones 8 and X, but now, with the 12.1 iOS update, they have received it. Apple even states that the management feature will work better on these phones, since they are never and have better software architecture, thus allowing the program to make a more productive use of phones’ resources. We shall see.
