This time it was an iPhone that exploded!
I am so excited, it has been a while since I wrote about a smartphone blowing up and now it is not even a Samsung! Christmas came early this year. Today’s victim of a lack of absolute, impossible to reach precision of fabrication is one Rocky Mohamadali from state of Washington, U.S. Mister Mohamadali has decided to update his iPhone X to OS version 12.1. He begun the process, plugged the device into the charger and got very surprised when the phone begun to very quickly overheat. Soon smoke begun to erupt from beneath the phone’s frame, and since where there is smoke, there is ...

Samsung Galaxy F will be compatible with US carriers
According to Evan Blass, Samsung is working on a wide range of carrier-specific firmware Galaxy F, world’s first foldable mobile device. This will allow it to work with U.S. Cellular, Spectrum Mobile, AT&T, Sprint and other US network providers. It is unknown how well Galaxy F will sold in the US, but I guess that if you want a market for an overpriced curio that will possibly begin a revolution in the mobile industry but is doubtful to sell well itself, US is the place to go. Galaxy F may or may not come out on March 2019, and its price may or may not be ...
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, or Pokemon Go in the realm of wizards
The game is being made by Niantic, the same guys who brought us Pokemon Go. It was supposed to be released this year, but there has been a delay; its new release date is ”sometime in 2019”. Right now there is next to nothing know about the game: all we have to go on is its teaser, which depicts a wizard catching a golden snitch and then summoning a poster stating that the wizard’s world is in danger of being discovered. Zuckerberg got offended by Apple and now Facebook employees cannot use their phones
Mark Zuckerberg recently urged his employees to stop using their iPhones (if they had one in the first place) and get themselves Android devices instead. The official reason for that is that… Zuckerberg is upset about Apple; Tim Cook says a lot of bad (but not wrong) things about Apple’s privacy policy. According to Apple Insider, Zuckerberg got enough of this and does not want to see the now-hated apple logo anywhere near him. Some people believe that the real reason for Mark Z’s war on Apple is the fact that the fruit company is becoming a market rival for FB. Apple has ...
Nokia 106 (2018), or return of the kind-of-a-classic
You asked for another remake of an old cellphone? No? Well, you got one. HMD Global has just released a refreshed version of its Nokia 106 cellphone from… 2013. It offers us a silly cheap (1590 ruble, currently available only in Russia) phone that has roughly as much to do with smartphones as a Rolex from 50’s with Apple Smartwatch. Currently it is unknown in what countries Nokia 106 (2018) will be available in. ...
Apple has officially admitted that its chip blocks unauthorized repairs
The fact that Apple intentionally makes it difficult for us to fix our devices anywhere else than in their shops is nothing new; what is new is that Apple has officially admitted doing so. In an interview with American newssite The Verge, Apple has stated that the T2 chip built into their devices makes it impossible to replace either their motherboard or the Touch ID elements. Attempt to have them replaced in an unauthorized shop will block the device, after which it can only be unlocked at the Apple store. What do you think about this? On the one hand, repairs done by an official Apple ...
