Resident Evil 2: Ghost Survivors will tell us the stories of three non-playable characters who meet their deaths during the main storyline. Three short missions will put is in the skin of the gun store owner (where you get your first shotgun – oh, I remember this scene well back from the classic RE2), daughter of the mayor put in care of the infamous chief Irons and, lastly, an unnamed Umbrella mercenary whose mission was to kill the scientist that released the virus. We do not know whether or not will it be possible to actually save these characters; on the one hand Japanese love to ...

New BlackBerry smartphone leaked
Some crafty soul has managed to mine the BlackBerry DTEK security app for code releated to a new BlackBerry device codenamed Adula. It has been suggested that this Adula device is being made by one of BlackBerry’s licensees, likely Optiemus, seeing how ”Adula” is a place in India, the country which Optiemus operates from. This mysterious device’s model number is BBI100 and, well, that is all that we know about it.It is likely that BlackBerry will tell us more about this Adula smartphone during the upcoming MWC ...
People are willing to sell their privacy for twenty bucks a month
That is how much money Facebook is willing to pay for it. Ever since 2016, Facebook has been using the app called Facebook Research. The aim of this app is to gather all data available from the smartphone that it is installed on. Facebook is actively searching for people between 13 and 35 years of age to recruit them into their Research program; when recruited, a person is being paid 20 USD per month for Facebook having a complete look into their smartphone settings and ...

Apple FaceTime allowed its users to eavesdrop on other people
Bug in FaceTime app’s programming allowed the callers to eavesdrop on the receivers of the call. All they had to do was to add themselves to the talk before the receiver picked it up and voila, they were suddenly receiving all the audio from the receiver even before she/he picked it up. Apple has temporarily closed down FaceTime’s group chats and is currently working on a fix that should be available this week. Tweet Vote on HN ...
Huge leak of Russian data, or how the Reds finally got the taste of security leak
Like WikiLeaks, only this time it is the eastern colossus that got hit. 108 gigabytes worth of secret mails, documents and recorded talks from Kremlin have just been released online. The culprit is a newly created group of hacktivists called Distributed Denial of Secrets, or DDoS; group has been created in December 2018 by a collective of white hat hackers, journalists and researchers operating from the darknet (parts of the Internet that cannot be found by a simple browser search), whose supposed mission is to dig out hard to find data for beneficial use. According to Emma Best, one of the ...

First renders of Sony’s Xperia XZ4 flagship have been revealed as early as in November 2018, but we have had to wait our fair share of time for its specs to appear online. Xiaomi Mi Band 3 in a new box
Haha, that news reminded me of my short stint as a telemarketer. My job was to call people, doctors to be specific, and tell them that the XXX medicine is now being sold ”in a new, exciting box shaped like a heart”. Ah, old times… Mi Band 3, a pretty popular smartband by Xiaomi, will soon be sold in a new package. You can see how it will look on the picture above: the new box is oblong instead of an old square, and every box is adorned in the same colour that the band unit inside is. Aaaaand that is all. Yeah. If you expected some wonderful changes then sorry, there are ...
Release of new ”Doom” movie postponed
Did you even know that a new Doom movie is in the works? I have not. Turns out that it is: the flick’s director is one Tony Giglio, with Louise Mandylor and Amy Manson in main roles. Other than a few names and a bunch of pictures from the studio, we do not have any information about the movie other than that it will come out this year. According to latest news, though, it will come out later this year than expected, and the reason for that delay is not half bad: it is said that the creators of the flick want to put more work into scenes taking place in hell. Seeing how the fiery pits ...
Russian Internet users will be forced to register their web-connected devices
Russia joins the list of countries fighting with online anonymity. Russian government (that is, Putin) has implemented a law bill according to which, starting on February 2020, every device connected to the Internet will have to be registered beforehand. This bill is supposed to help fight illegal trade of, for example, stolen smartphones, but it is not hard to figure out that it will give the Russian government means to trace anyone online using their MAC address or IMEI number. What is more, registration will not even be free, but will cost 100 ruble per device. The bill will supposedly ...
