Amber alerts are coming to 25 countries

Amber alerts are special types of alerts coming from Instagram that will help in finding missing children.

The feature was already used on Meta (Facebook) and has helped in finding houndrets of children.

The alerts work with organizations like: the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the US, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children, the National Crime Agency in the US, the Attorney General’s Office in Mexico, and the Australian Federal Police.

There are of course more companies that support this project, howeer we cannot mention all of them.

The Amber alerts work like this.
If a Law enforcement activates the alert and you are in the designated search area, the alert will appear in your Instagram feed.
The alert will include the missing child’s photo, description, last location, and other available information.
Instagram will use signals such as your IP address and location services (if enabled) and the city listed on your profile to decide whether you should receive an AMBER alert.

It is great to see how people are helping people, our company is a huge fan of this system.

The countries that will use this systenm are: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Ecuador, Greece, Guatemala, Ireland, Jamaica, Korea, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, South Africa, Taiwan, Ukraine, the UK, UAE, and the US.

We hope that many other countries will take part in project as well.
