LG patents its idea for a borderless display smartphone with a hole in the screen

LG has just put its latest patent down in the Korean Intellectual Property Office KIPO, and it turns out to be quite an interesting document. According to it, LG is working on two smartphone projects; one of them is a standard smartphone brick, while the other one has its left side curved like a notebook. In both cases the screen, supposedly elastic, takes up almost 100% of space available. Both screens also have an oval sinus in the upper left corner of the display. iPhone 8 is the top selling smartphone in the US this quarter

iPhones may have only held the bronze medal for the most popular smartphones globally, with Samsung and Huawei beating it to the pedestal, but Apple’s brand is still strong in its motherland. According to the Kantar Worldpanel data, iPhone 8 achieved the 9.4 percent share of smartphone sold in 3rd quarter of this year, while Samsung Galaxy S9 ruled in the EU. According to the official Huawei entry on Weibo, the two Huawei series will finally get their 9 Pie update on November 10th.
