Hear ye, hear ye. Samsung has finally shown its foldable phone

Samsung Electronics and Samsung Display have joined forces to create a prototype of a device that may very well turn out to be a revolution on the mobile market. Samsung Infinity Flex is a tablet that can be folded into and used as a smartphone. The presentation was somewhat modest – the device was not shown live, but on a video filmed in a poor light, probably to hide many of Flex’s shortcomings. It is hard to blame them, though, after all it is just a prototype.

Samsung Infinity Flex in its base form is a 7.3′ tablet. After folding it turns into a somewhat thick but servicable smartphone of unknown diameter. Interesting detail is lack of any frame where the device bends. Infinity Flex will be able to display up to three different apps on its screen. Its OS will be, of course, Android. Nothing else is known about its specifications.

Infinity Flex will reach store shelves sometime in 2019. The video with it being presented can be watched here.
