I first wrote about this problem yesterday, and today I am happy to announce that it has been fixed. Not overly happy, though… because while Apple did fix the problem, it did so in a bad style. Is it not great when a smartphone worth a thousand bucks refuses to charge?
Long story short is that a large number of newly sold iPhone Xs units refuse to charge. Upon plugging the charger, new iPhone can freeze, ignore the charger, charge for a few minutes and then stop or charge only after you wake the phone up from screensaving. Right now it is unknown whether the issue is hardware or software.
