Private profile for ”real” Facebook friends

Private profile for ”real” Facebook friends

Most of us have lots of Facebook friends (I have ten, but I am me). These friends often consist of a variety of people – actual friends, acquaintances, coworkers and associates, teachers, bosses, family. Often we want to share something on FB that we would rather not have all of them seeing. Facebook surely noticed this First World Problem and decided to deal with it, even if the way it does so can be considered unsavory.

FB is testing a new function that will allow its user to create new, private profiles. What does ”private” mean? In this case, it reportedly means that only a limited group of chosen people will be able to see this new profile of yours. We do not know how will those people be chosen. Will there be a limit to how many friends can you have on your secret profile? Will the maximum number of them be a percentage of your ”normal” friends? We don’t know that and anything else, too, because that new function is not available as beta version, at least not yet. The app itself can be downloaded on Android phones, but after installing it does not react to the user opening it. Maybe it will soon.

What do you think about that new function? Would you like to have your own Facebook ”inner circle”? Let me know.
