Australians would rather pay less for their iPhones

No duh, right? Everyone would rather pay less for their everything. Still, this is a smartphone news blog, not everything blog, so you will forgive me for reporting smartphone-related news. According to an article by Gizmodo, one thousand Australians were surveyed to answer the question ”How much are you willing to pay for iPhone 8?”. Survey results show that people would rather pay much less for their shiny new iPhones than Apple asks them to (again, no duh):

– Australian price for iPhone 8 is said to be $1500. According to the survey, average Aussie would rather pay $920,
– people between the age of 45 and 54 are willing to pay $803 for an iPhone 8. 18-24 year old Aussies feel like dishing out $1,015,
– very slight majority (51%) would prefer to buy the phone on a plan, while 49% will just buy it outright. The average amount people are willing to pay per month is $75.

Of course, as pointed out by Gizmodo, people will probably change their minds when the phone actually comes out and is hailed the best thing since sliced bread. Lots of praize and feeling of getting left behind by the hype train will surely make many fans reconsider their monetary expectations.
