After Reuters investigated the matter, it turned out that the fire took nineteen firetrucks and over a hundred firemen to stop and, more importantly to us smartphone lovers, it was caused by a faulty battery. Strike! Reuter’s source in the Fire Department stated that ”material that caught fire was lithium batteries inside the production workshops and some half-finished products”. Ouch… might want to, erm, reconsider buying that Samsung Galaxy S8, right?
