Samsung Vice-Chairman Jay Y. Lee threatened with prison

Sex, corruption and Korean smartphones. Okay, there is no sex involved, that was cheap – made you look, though, huh? Anyway, back to the point. Long story short, Koreans has been investigating Samsung for some time now, suspecting the company of wiring $36 million to two foundations led by one Choi Soon-sil, a friend of Jay Y Lee, the de facto chairman of Samsung (his father, the actual chairman, has been struck with a heart attack in 2014 and have not made full recovery since then). The money was, reportedly, supposed to be used to secure shady deals with the Korean government. Samsung does not accept the bribe charge, and states the transfer (that took placei n 2015) in no way related to the vice-chairman. The company also calls for the government to not put Mr. Lee on a trial without detaining him, as he is already banned from leaving South Korea and, after the government raids on Samsung headquarters, the possibility of him hiding any evidence is minimal.
