Sprint restarts Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for LG Optimus S

Way back in September of last year, Sprint released the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the LG Optimus S smartphone. Unfortunately, it was pulled shortly after launch because users were reporting a number of bugs with the update. This left Optimus S users confused and bewildered as to where their Android 2.3 Gingerbread update went. Well, here we are nearly seven months later, and Sprint says that it will relaunch the update starting on Wednesday of this week. In addition to the improvements that come with Android 2.3, Sprint says the update also includes fixes for device charging, an SD card unmounting error, the device not being recognized by Windows SP, Vista, or 7 operating systems, a predictive text with Android keyboard issue, and a voice call volume issue. Users should get a notification on their handsets when the update is ready to be downloaded and installed.
