Today the U.S. Justice Department approved Google’s proposed $12.5 billion acquisition of Motorola Mobility. However, the regulatory body said it would not hesitate to take action if it feels standard essential patents are not licensed fairly. Earlier today, the European Commission also approved the deal. It still has to clear hurdles in several other markets.
