FCC Reveals Sprint-Bound LG Windows Phone

Documents seen on the Federal Communications Commission’s web site reveal information about an unannounced device from LG. According to the documents, the LG LS831 supports CDMA in the EMSR band (800MHz), which only Sprint uses. One of the documents is also called the “Sprint Nextel Waiver”, further earmarking the LS831 for Sprint. The device also supports CDMA in the 1900MHz band, as well as Bluetooth. Nokia’s highly-anticipated Lumia 900 Windows Phone smartphone is now available for pre-order from AT&T. The 4.3-inch, 4G LTE-equipped smartphone runs Windows Phone 7.5 and features a single-piece, polycarbonate design. AT&T is offering pre-orders for the Lumia 900 in either cyan or black for $99.99 with a new two-year contract. Sony says Android 4.0 ICS upgrades coming next month

Sony has announced that it plans to launch the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrades for the Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V, and Xperia ray in the middle of April. The roll-out will be gradual and is expected to take four to six weeks to complete. Sony says the upgrade will require users to use their PC or Mac to install it, and it will not be made available over-the-air. Sony Offering Android 4.0 Beta to Xperia Play

Sony has made a beta version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich available for the Xperia Play smartphone. Sony cautions that the beta software is not a final build of Android 4.0, and those who download and install it may encounter bugs. Sony today indicated via its web site that it will push the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update to the Xperia arc S, neo V, and ray starting in mid-April.
