As I write it, Huawei is (or is going to) pushing an OTA to Huawei Mate 9 in the US. This update enables Huawei Alexa app, allowing you to give commands to your AI assistant Alexa. It is not all roses, as Mate 9’s Alexa will have few limitations:– Alexa can only be summoned by launching the Huawei Alexa app,– when asking about the weather, you will have to specify the city you are in, every time,– you cannot ask Alexa to play movies on a Fire TV device. These do not seem to be dealbreaking limitations, but Huawei promises to remove at least some of them, quote, ...
Superscreen, a $99, ten inches display for your phone
When you complain to people about how you like your smartphone, but wish it had a larger screen, most of them will tell you to get a tablet (well, I would tell you to stop crying and be happy with the First World privileges you have, but that’s me). Problem is, tablet isn’t your phone – it doesn’t have your phone’s apps, you can’t use it to call or message people, etcetera. Superscreen, a new kickstarter project, wants to solve this issue. Their device is basically a 10′ tablet that wirelessly syncs with your phone via an app; after the two are ...

Rumour says that Samsung will offer unconditional refunds for Galaxy S8
According to The Investor, Samsung will soon begin a large marketing campaign for its upcoming Galaxy S8 (and S8+) smartphone. Part of this campaign will supposedly be a promise that every owner of the phone will be able to send it back to Samsung for full refund.Sounds too good to be true? Yeah, it probably is not. If Samsung is to be believed, every owner of the S8 will have three months to send his/her phone back for full refund, no questions asked. This sounds pretty amazing, but also pretty unrealistic. So what, thousands if not milions of people will buy themselves a shiny new Galaxy ...

British drone-cops, or Constable of the Future
British police plans to add drones to its list of equipment (or should I say, add to its ranks?). Among flyers’ duties will be taking photographs of crime scenes that are difficult to reach and taking part in searching for lost people. Project is backed up by the government. Police is already searching for ”drone management specialists” to take command of the machines. The idea is being tested since the end of 2015, so far with the DJI Inspire 1 drone models, but newer machines will most certainly be used when the unit actually becomes reality. ...
A man dies after charging his phone in bath, or yes, water is an excellent water conduct
And the Darwin award goes to… I am sorry, I know that a man’s death should not be taken lightly, but I think many of us will agree that, in this particular case, an exception can be made. One Richard Bull, Great Britain, was using his iPhone while taking a bath. Mr. Bull decided that it will be a good idea to plug his device into the power outlet, so that it can charge while he bathes. It is a shame, then, that he did not take into consideration a fact that putting a wired charger on his chest while dipping in the water is a dangerous idea. Unfortunately, the worst happened and ...
