Nokia Beta Labs is now offering a new version of the Nokia Store for Symbian and Series 40 devices. The new and improved Nokia Store is expected to offer its Series 40 users the ability to view search history and publisher information as well as application updates. For Symbian users, improvements have been made in how updates are handled. Some bug fixes are included and users should expect to see improvement when downloading large files as well. Nokia Reveals Hotspot Feature Headed to Lumia Line

Nokia has indicated via a FAQ posted to its web site that its Lumia Windows Phone devices will be updated with support for the mobile hotspot feature. The Lumia 800 and 710, which are already available in some markets, do not include this feature. According to Nokia, the feature will be added in a future system update, though the timing and availability of the update was not provided. Nokia Discontinuing Ovi Share

Nokia today announced that it plans to shutter its Ovi Share service on May 30, 2012. Users will have until then to download any content stored in Ovi Share. Nokia said that users can download their content in small pieces as well as in one large zip file, depending on their needs. The system will not be accessible after May 30. Nokia Says ‘PureView’ Tech Headed to Lumia Smartphones

Nokia Maps and Bing Maps Tie the Visual Knot

Nokia today announced that it and partner Microsoft has refreshed the appearance of Nokia maps to unify the user interface of both the Nokia Maps and Bing Maps systems. Nokia says that the overarching goal of the redesign was to make the maps easier to understand, yet still provide detail and context for what’s in view. Nokia said that it has reduced the amount of clutter and icons visible on the maps, as well as toned down its color palette.
