Motorola indicated via a legal filing that it is eliminating 800 jobs and closing at least one facility in ahead of its pending acquisition by Google. Yesterday Motorola Mobility announced its financial and business performance results for Q3 of 2011. In the report, the company stated that it had revenues of $3.3 billion, which is up 11 percent from Q3 in 2010. The revenue came mostly from the sale of its mobile devices, of which it shipped 11.6 million units. 4.8 million of those devices shipped were smartphones, and 100,000 of them were XOOM tablets.
