Funny how mobile FB gets arguably more attention than the stationary one. The mobile version of the world’s most popular social platform is currently receiving a new section. It is called Gaming and its goal is to make Facebook useful for, well, gamers; Facebook wants it to be a single source of all things video game-related, from reviews to other players to, perhaps most importantly, streamers – why only have Facebook users when you can also have Fortnite players, right? Currently, Gaming is going through beta tests and only selected few people can use it. We do not know when ...

Facebook Messenger’s Dark Mode is here
You asked for it and you got it – the Dark Mode is here. Messenger’s Dark Mode (for both iOS and Android) has been at works for some time. Now that it is finally available, how do you access it? It is pretty easy: first, you need to make sure that your Messenger is up to date. Is the latest update installed? Okay, good. Now you need to pick one of your friends, family or pizza deliverers and send them a text message with nothing but a crescent-shaped moon emoji like this one: ☽. Done? If so, then you should be seeing a bunch of similiar emojis appearing on your ...
Facebook will allow you to clear your history – a bit like your web browser
The first time this new function was ever mentioned was last May, when Mark Zuckerberg himself announced that Facebook is working on it. It has now been confirmed by the company’s CEO, David Wehner. This new tool’s function will be to allow the FB user to clear her or his history on the social website. This includes groups joined, content liked, apps installed etc. At least in theory – knowing Facebook, they will probably keep on spying on us nevertheless. Tweet Vote on ...
People are willing to sell their privacy for twenty bucks a month
That is how much money Facebook is willing to pay for it. Ever since 2016, Facebook has been using the app called Facebook Research. The aim of this app is to gather all data available from the smartphone that it is installed on. Facebook is actively searching for people between 13 and 35 years of age to recruit them into their Research program; when recruited, a person is being paid 20 USD per month for Facebook having a complete look into their smartphone settings and ...
Facebook wants to merge Messengera, Instagram and WhatsAppa into a single service
Mark Zuckerberg wants to integrate all three of his social network messaging services into one in order to, supposedly, assert his control over the increasing division between the three apps. This in turn will supposedly make it easier for Facebook to better fight against Internet evils such as fake news or hate speech. The plan is to continue operating three apps separately, but to connect them via an underlying technical infrastructure. Reconfiguration of the three social apps should be complete by the end of 2020. Additionally, this process will include incorporating an end-to-end ...
Facebook Community Actions. What is that?
Community Actions, new FB function, allows us to create online petitions. Such petition is a special post with a title, description and tags. Tags serve to, well, tag agency or organization that we want our petition to reach. The support button allows us to share the petition with other people – like a chain letter, only hopefully not as annoying. Discussions can be had under the petitions, but only after you decide to back them up.Community Actions is currently going through betatests in the US. Rumour is that the tests are going splendidly and there are no serious issues. Does FB ...
Facebook LOL, or ha, ha, ha
It has been heard for some time now that young people are drifting away from Facebook. The youngsters these days prefer Twitch and Snapchat, reportedly, and they are also getting tired of FB’s near constant security and image fiascos. It must be true, since Mark Zuckerberg believes it; and he probably believes it, because otherwise he would not try to do something as silly as Facebook LOL. LOL is supposed to be a new feature of FB, which may or may not be a separate app. The goal of FB LOL will be to gather memes, both still images and gifs, for easy access from the main part of the ...
Messenger’s New Clothes
Both stationary and mobile Facebook Messengers have received a slight lifting. The changes are subtle rather than revolutionary: stationary version has a slightly greater contrast between the white and blue elements and the minimalized chat window lies now slightly higher than it used to; in the meantime, the mobile Messenger now uses black and white colours and has also changed some of its icons. The changes have already been implemented, so you can go and check them ou yourselves. Messenger Lite will also receive them at some point in the near ...
Facebook Messenger is getting Dark Mode
It took them a while, but they have finally done it. Facebook has announced that part of its grand Messenger redesign project, which it dubs Messenger 4, will include adding an optional Dark Mode to the communicator. Hooray for not being blinded by the white background anymore! Sadly, FB decided not to share any other details on the mode, saying that they will, quote, ”be back with more soon”.One of the other changes in Messenger 4 will be putting some of its tabs into a single ”Discover” tab so that we can continue to ignore them. ...
Oh man. Facebook has been hacked again. That is so interesting
I understand that having our private accounts hacked by the evildoing thirt parties is something worth of note, but Facebook has had so many problems, lesser and greater, this year that any more are just wearing me out. Still, a journalist’s duty is to keep you, dear readers, informed, and that is what I will do. That and, well, it is my job.So, what happened this time? Oh, nothing much; someone just hacked Facebook and managed to gain access to up to 50 million accounts. Is it Tuesday already?* The hackers have gained access to our accounts by using a vulnerability in the ...
