Mark Zuckerberg wants to integrate all three of his social network messaging services into one in order to, supposedly, assert his control over the increasing division between the three apps. This in turn will supposedly make it easier for Facebook to better fight against Internet evils such as fake news or hate speech. The plan is to continue operating three apps separately, but to connect them via an underlying technical infrastructure. Reconfiguration of the three social apps should be complete by the end of 2020. Additionally, this process will include incorporating an end-to-end encryption to all three apps.
