HTC offers bootloader unlock tool for all smartphones released after September 2011
HTC has announced that the tool that it provides to unlock the bootloaders of its Android smartphones has been updated to work with all models released after September 2011. This means that owners of the HTC Vivid, Rezound, and other recent models can now unlock their bootloaders and load custom software on the devices. As with previous versions of the unlock tool, use of it will void a phone’s warranty, and users need to have the Android SDK installed on their computer for it to work. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with LTE for Verizon finally gets a taste of TouchWiz
The Wi-Fi version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has had Samsung’s TouchWiz interface since August, but the LTE version of the tablet offered by Verizon Wireless is just now getting the custom interface and associated mini-apps. In addition to Samsung’s special treatment of Android 3.2 Honeycomb, the update brings DiVX video support, Bluetooth 3.0, and Samsung’s own AllShare DLNA media sharing.
