Apple received $6.6 million fine in Australia for bricking a number of devices
Apple has to pay nine million Australian dollars, or over six and a half million US bucks. The company lost a legal case to the consumer rights group. The case was related to how the company reacted after iOS updates bricked devices that had been repaired by third party service providers. Long story short, around 275 Apple owners in Australia have been denied a free repair of their broken phones between February 2015 and 2016 because they have had their phones fixed by third parties before. Australian court has ruled that Apple’s decision was in breach of Australian consumer law and ...
iOS 12 will show our location when we call the police
Apple is bringing a new function to the iOS 12. For now it will only be available in the US. This new function will quickly and automatically deliver our location to the police every time we call 911. The heart of this function is HELO system (Hybridized Emergency Location) that Apple implemented three years ago. Its goal is to, naturally, immediately deliver our location to the law enforcement so that they can react faster (as well as allowing the police to spy on us 24/7, but shhh). Personally I think that the idea is great on paper and would love to see it spread from the US as soon as ...

Nokia X6 Global pops up on Twitter. Release outside China?
Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer of HMD Global, has posted yesterday a Twitter poll in which he asked whether or not would we want to see X6 launch in markets other than China. Two new, official cases available for BlackBerry Key2
It seems like some information about two new cases for BlackBerry Key2 was being put on the BlackBerry Mobile website and taken down. It is made with soft-touch, protects only the backpanel and corners and supports NFC. Another case is called Flip Case. It protects back and front of the phone, is made of leather, comes with a double card holder and will support NFC too.Price and availability of the devices is as of yet unknown. ...
Special edition of Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is coming out. More memory
Not many smartphones on the market possess 512 GB memory, but Samsung plans on adding to this list. What is more is that the already very considerable 6GB RAM of this upgraded model will also get buffed to a pretty gigantic 8 gigabytes. I doubt that this will cause much difference in device’s performance, but the owner’s e-pen… err, the owner’s pride in his or her smartphone will certainly receive a boost. This upgraded Galaxy Note 9 will be released in South Korea, China… and maybe in other countries as ...
