A few meaningful pictures have leaked online. First there was the one above, put on Facebook by the Chinese operator China Mobile; then there was this graphic, put online by ITHome and credited to another Chinese operator China Telecom. The poster says, roughly, ”New iPhone on the market, dual cards, full network cover. Do not be late”. Wise people on the Internet believe, that these two teasers confirm the long-living rumours of iPhone finally getting a dual SIM variant. The downside is that there is no word on such variants being available outside our communist friend from the ...

Facepalm, or how over one hundred thousand people downloaded app that supposedly increases their RAM
According to a research by ESET, well over 100 thousand smartphone users are idiots. Harsh, but there is no other explanation for the fact that that many people have downloaded a software program believing that it will somehow transmutate their mobile devices into having more RAM memory. This app is a joke at best an a malignant nest of blackware at worst. Oh well – if people can believe that a fan app will let them cool their faces on a hot day… Tweet Vote on HN ...
Huawei is cheating on its benchmarks because ”everyone does it”
Mommy, mommy, Ralph kicked me so I kicked him back. Anandtech has recently checked Huawei’s benchmark of its new Honor Play smartphone. Tests have achieved an interesting results: it turns out that Huawei overclocked its benchmark unit for around 47% of its performance, making it as if their device is much stronger than it really is. If the actual Honor Play performed with that much power, the smartphone would quickly overheat and break. Developer defends their decision to cheat by stating that many of the Android smartphone developers does so; their example is an unnamed Chinese ...
Nokia 6.1 Plus will not allow its user to mask the notch anymore
Every good thing has to come to an end. Sadly, one of these good things are the option to hide a notch on the Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone. Nokia has reportedly been forced to remove it to comply with Google’s wishes: makes sense, seeing how 6.1 Plus is a part of the Android One program. As for Google’s reason, who knows? Some believe that black panel that covers the notch causes issues with some apps by hiding their buttons. Tweet Vote on HN ...

Samsung might launch separate Galaxy S10 model with 5G support
Samsung Galaxy S10 is expected to see the light of day by Q1 2019. Reports so far indicate that the device will come in three models codenamed Beyond 0, Beyond 1 and Beyond 2; probably a lite, normal and plus model. New report from a South Korean source claims though that there will be two variants of the Beyond 2 model. One of them will be equipped with a 5G connectivity. The reason for not putting it into a basic Beyond 2 model is reportedly its higher price. We do not know if that model will be released alongside the others or on a later ...
