Third-party market places are coming for iOS apps in Europe

Apple has just revealed its latest strategy in reaction to the Digital Markets Act (DMA) introduced by the European Union.
Apple is currently launching testing Labs for developers to assess their iOS apps and marketplaces.

This initiative allows developers, who have accepted the contentious business conditions, to leverage the fresh functionalities within the App Store Connect and App Store Connect API for configuring their applications.
Subsequently, developers have the option to utilize TestFlight for beta-testing all the novel features.

The upcoming alterations are slated to be implemented by March 2024.
The European Commission (EC) is set to scrutinize Apple’s methodologies in the coming month, with a distinct possibility that the regulatory body may express dissatisfaction and urge Tim Cook and his team to instigate additional reforms aimed at fostering competition.
