SpellForce: Heroes & Magic, new mobile phone strategy game

It seems that the newest, fourth game in the SpellForce RTS-RPG series, will be a mobile game. Heroes & Magic will stay faithful to the game’s RPG slash strategy game roots, with only differences being the platform it is played on as well as abandoning the real time strategy in favour of turn based one – a good choice, frankly, as smartphones’ small screens do not get along well with the fast-paced, microintense gameplay of RTS’. New SpellForce will offer a 13 missions-long campaign as well as skirmish mode, in which you will be able to control forces of either ...

Xiaomi patents smartphone with low-placed notches, because why not?

At least they are original. Notches are a very popular feature but, as most popular ideas, there are many people who are against them. Anti-notchers argue that notches are intrusive and take up valuable space on the display. Xiaomi has taken notice of their voices and has just released a patent that might be an answer to the anti-notchers’ First World Problem. As shown on the above and other graphics, Xiaomi plans a smartphone with notches placed at the bottom of the display, either in the middle or in the bottom corners. According to people wiser than me, the former idea is more ...

So far, the event horizon is the closest our tech allows us to observe black holes. How difficult is it? Well, let me put it that way: the hard drives ...

Samsung Galaxy S7 will now receive only quarterly updates

Gone are the good old days of Galaxy S7 getting updates every month. Samsung has deemed this device too old and undesirable to be kept on a tight update streak, therefore it will now only be updated once every three months. This is still not a bad deal for such an old device, though. This change encompasses the entire S7 line: S7, S7 Edge, and Tab S3 9.7. Tweet Vote on HN ...
