Last week, Indian government has decided to ban the newly popular TikTok app over the ”child safety concerns”, which basically meant ”kids are sharing porn on TikTok and we cannot have that”. Today, after receiving a plea from Bytedance, the creators of the app, India has decided to reverse the ban: the app will soon be reinstated into Indian Apple and Google stores.
That is definitely good news for Bytedance. Every dan of the ban costs the company roughly 500 thousand dollars, and puts 250 job posts at risk.
